About us
flow present was not born in a pitch deck. It grew out of workshop rooms, conference hotels, and co-working spaces across four continents — from over twenty years of seminar-room experience, teaching ideals, technical precision and clarity, and the wish to finally have a tool that brings all of this together.
The team
Two perspectives — one shared conviction that good tools make a difference.
For over 20 years I have delivered workshops, seminars, and keynotes — for political education associations, large NGOs and government organizations, for unions and activists. Across four continents, in person, hybrid, and remote. Solo, in large teams, in small teams.
As a media literacy educator, I have tested over a hundred tools. Participatory ones, structuring ones, planning ones, evaluation ones. Open source. Proprietary. Comprehensive or highly specialized. For week-long seminars, for 15-minute lightning talks — and everything in between.

All of this experience has flowed into one tool. flow present is the essence of all our experience — and that of many fellow practitioners and experts.
— Daniel Seitz, Co-founder
With flow present, we wanted to make delivering high-quality educational work structured, purposeful, and supportive at every stage — grounded in teaching ideals and genuine forms of participation.
Good software. Open source. Forms of participation that actually work. Good design. Good planning. All of this belongs together — and that is exactly what flow present brings together in one place.
I come from engineering. I am not an educator. Perhaps that is exactly why I am fascinated by the question of how good collaboration succeeds.
In my professional life I have learned that complex processes only work when they are simple, clear, and reliable. As a materials engineer, I work every day on processing highly critical materials under precise conditions — where mistakes have real consequences. That is the mindset I bring to flow present.
Good software should support people, not keep them busy.
— Martin Dietrich, Co-founder
Behind flow present is Mandria Labs GbR — a small, focused company with a clear mission: software that genuinely supports educational work.
We develop deliberately, without investor pressure and without feature inflation. What we build, we build with care — and we stand behind it.
We approach sustainability with professional expertise: co-founder Daniel Seitz is a sustainability manager for culture, education and media and a certified officer for sustainable event management (ISO 20121) — we examine every step within the company and in product development.
Technology
flow present stands on the shoulders of giants. Behind every module is the best available open-source software. All privacy-critical modules are built on highly regulated, proven systems — connected by carefully considered architectural decisions. The core of flow present will itself be open source (AGPL-3.0; opening planned after a code review): license & source code.
Accessibility
At flow present, accessibility is not a later requirement but part of the technical foundation — built in from day one, tested automatically, not patched in afterwards.
